For Cates, who would HAVE to start watching Doctor Who in this eventuality:
He went on to say that if he (Hewlett) did somehow get the opportunity to play the Doctor — which obviously he'd flip for — he wasn't really sure what he could bring to the role since he'd so internalised Tom Baker's Doctor, and then he went on to say the bit about Eddie (Izzard) and summed up with "so what I would bring to the role would be cross-dressing. I think if you walk onto an alien planet wearing pumps that makes a statement."
